Profit Through Productivity

The Profit Through Productivity programme is being delivered by the Best Practice Forum, in partnership with Cumbria Tourism.  The programme aims to help businesses become more profitable, productive and competitive.  When a similar programme was held in Cumbria in 2003, 68 tourism businesses increased their profits by an average of £31,000 each.

The current programme is heavily subsidised using funding from the NWDA and the European Regional Development Fund, so businesses pay only £99 + VAT.  (The full cost is nearer £5,000.)

The 'Profit Through Productivity' programme offers businesses the chance to benefit from one-to-one visits from a specialist tourism business coach who will help you identify and address specific business issues relevant to your operation.   Meetings with your coach provide one-to-one advice and support on a confidential basis. They enable you to focus on matters specific to your business, to keep track of improvements in efficiency and productivity and to make adjustments wherever necessary.

The programme also includes a confidential benchmarking activity, which allows you to see how your business measures up against the competition and best practice. In addition, you are also invited to attend a series of special 'best practice workshops' at local venues.
