Cumbria Tourism Awards 2009

The winners of the 2009 Cumbria Tourism Awards were revealed at a special ceremony in Kendal last night (Wednesday 6th May).

Hundreds of tourism professionals and businesses from around the county gathered at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal to hear the winners announced by actor and broadcaster, Ted Robbins.

Nineteen prizes were awarded on the night, which recognised excellence both in business and in people including the final award for the Large Hotel of the Year being presented to the host venue, the Castle Green Hotel.

Each category winner received a certificate and specially designed award, individually handcrafted by Jonathan Stamper at High Head Sculpture Valley.  Seven of the awards were dedicated to employees working within the tourism industry and these successful individuals each received a cheque for £200 in addition to the engraved award.
