Terms and Conditions for Entry

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY INTO THE CUMBRIA TOURISM AWARDS 2011

By submitting an entry, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions:

  • The closing date for entries is Friday 13th May 2011.
  • You may enter more than one category but separate entry forms must be completed for each.
  • Winners from the 2010 awards cannot enter the same category in 2011.
  • Employees of Cumbria Tourism are not eligible for entry.
  • Additional eligibility criteria may apply to specific awards. Please check the individual award details for more information.
  • Any accommodation provider who enters the awards must have a current quality grading assessment for their business.
  • The decision of the judges is final and they cannot enter into discussions about the shortlisting process or choice of winners. The entry form becomes the property of Cumbria Tourism. The mystery shopping activity will provide feedback to shortlisted entrants.
  • By entering the awards, you agree to be part of publicity if you are shortlisted in any category.
  • Winners will represent Cumbria in the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence in 2012. These winners agree to work with Cumbria Tourism, if required, following the award ceremony in July 2011 to develop their entry for submission to the national awards. The Lady Inglewood Award is run at a Cumbria level only.
  • All shortlisted organisations in the Cumbria Tourism Awards will be mystery shopped by telephone. Large Hotel, Small Hotel, Bed and Breakfast, Large Visitor Attraction, Small Visitor Attraction and Business Tourism will receive a visit by a mystery shopper.
  • Outstanding Customer Service, Self Catering Holiday, Holiday Park, Taste of Cumbria, Tourism Experience, Sustainable Tourism and Lady Inglewood Award will receive a validation visit or a mystery shopper visit, as appropriate to the finalists.
  • Further details and a consent form will be sent with the shortlisting notification and this must be completed and returned or the mystery shopping/validation visit will not take place and you will be disqualified.
  • The Cumbria Tourism Awards are free to enter, but the cost of the mystery shopping or judging validation visit must be reimbursed by businesses reaching the final. These costs will be appropriate to each award category and in the case of mystery shopping may include entry fees, meals and/or an overnight stay. For validation visits, the costs will involve paying travelling expenses from Cumbria Tourism's offices in Staveley to your business.
  • The Tourism Event award will be judged by a panel.
