Approved Premises
As an alternative to a register office or church, a marriage or Civil Partnership can now be held at different venues that have been granted the authority to hold civil marriage or Civil Partnership ceremonies. These are called 'Approved Premises'.
Venues such as hotels, stately homes, historic buildings and race courses can obtain approval for marriage ceremonies to be held in specific rooms and locations at the venue. Becoming an approved premise also allows you to hold other ceremonies such as renewal of vows and naming ceremonies. This can be a good way of diversifying your business and generating additional income.
