International musicians to headline classical music event

A renowned Israeli pianist will be among the international musicians heading to the Lake District, Cumbria, for the second Askham Hall Music Festival Weekend this February.

Three concerts at Askham Church will see pianist Noam Greenberg take to the stage on the evenings of 24, 25 and 26 February 2017.

Headliner Noam is a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician who studied with one of the most influential piano teachers of the late 20th century – the late Mario Curcio – and has appeared on music stages across Europe.  He will be accompanied by German cellist Julian Arp, along with Jacqueline Shave (principal violinist at the Britten Sinfonia Orchestra) and Clare Finnimore (principal viola player at the Britten).

Owner of Askham Hall, Charles Lowther, has arranged the event. He says, “Last year’s inaugural Askham Hall Music Festival Weekend was a great success and we’re excited it’s now starting to make its mark as an annual celebration of classical music in Cumbria.  Askham is a charming location and we think this event will appeal to both devoted classical music buffs as well as anyone wanting a gentle introduction to the classics.”
