Using the latest technology powered by You.Smart.Thing. the travel planner enables the user to search venues and places to visit all around the county and presents personalised journey routes to experience new places, all with sustainable travel in mind.

Think of it as Google Maps Plus!

Offering multi-modal travel, meaning you can mix travelling by train, bus, car, cycle and walking; the planner also displays exactly how much carbon can be saved by travelling smart.

How does it work?

Cumbria Tourism has created individual ‘travel assistants’ for all its members listed on visitlakedistrict.com. Visitors can access the easily embedded service from your listings on the visitlakedistrict.com website or your own website if you have chosen to embed the travel planner on your website. If they’ve booked, you can send them a personalised low carbon travel plan containing the best way to reach your destination.

What will it cost?

The service is free for Cumbria Tourism members and associated organisations.

Yes, the Cumbria Tourism web team is on hand to help you. We have produced a ‘Quick Start’ guide with easy to follow steps on how to embed the travel planner on your own website, but if you need any more help, jut contact the team on website@cumbriatourism.org.
