The awards celebrate the very best of Cumbria’s vibrant tourism economy.  More than 100 entries have been whittled down to this shortlist of finalists.  The businesses have shown that they are offering fantastic quality, service and care to our visitors against a backdrop of one of the most challenging periods in the industry’s history.

The finalists now face another round of judging, with a visit from one of our mystery shoppers or judges before the winner of each category is decided.

All the successful finalists will be invited to join us at the tourism ‘Oscars’ which makes a long-awaited comeback after a three-year absence.  Our glittering, black-tie celebration takes place on Wednesday 6th July at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal.

The awards evening will be hosted by Dave Guest, one of the most recognisable faces on North West TV screens, having spent almost 40 years with the BBC documenting some of this region’s most memorable moments.

Thanks to our sponsors

We would like to thank our sponsors for making the competition possible again this year including all our category sponsors, along with headline sponsor United Utilities, wine sponsor EWGA, design sponsor Lawson Design and the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for any other companies who would like to get involved.

And finally, while we know it’s disappointing if you haven’t reached the final, we urge you to enter again in 2023.  The standard was exceptional once again, and many of our previous winners were unsuccessful on their first or even second attempt.
