Cumbria Tourism Awards 2020
The Cumbria Tourism Awards is now open to entries. The deadline for entries is Monday 17th February at 5 pm. Please note no extensions will be offered.
The Cumbria Tourism Awards celebrate the best Cumbria has to offer and are now in their 18th year. Cumbria’s tourism businesses, and the talented individuals behind them, drive a visitor economy worth £3 billion. Their achievements, hard work and dedication are worthy of recognition.
Cumbria offers ever increasing levels of quality and service to our annual visitors, which in 2019 exceeded 47 million, and the Cumbria Tourism Awards recognise those businesses offering excellence and innovation in their product, service, welcome, marketing and sustainable practices.
The awards get bigger and better every year, with increasing numbers of entries offering incredible quality. There is an award category to suit everyone across Cumbria’s vast and diverse range of tourism businesses.
Eligible winners of certain categories will automatically feed up to the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2021, for the chance to gain national recognition. Wedding Venue of the Year and Makers and Producers Award are run at a Cumbria level only, but this year’s winner of The Sheila Hensman Unsung Hero Award will automatically go through to the national awards for the first time. Cumbria has seen a great deal of success at national level over the years, resulting in fantastic media promotion for the winning businesses and Cumbria – the Lake District as a quality visitor destination.
This year, there are 16 award categories which celebrate the huge range and diversity of Cumbria’s tourism industry.
The closing date for entries is 5pm on Monday 17th February.
Winners will be announced at on Wednesday 15th July 2020 at Cartmel Racecourse
