Digital Assistant – Lakeland Arts
This is a new post in the Business Development and Marketing Team at an exciting period of transition for Lakeland Arts. This 12-month project through the Weston Culture Fund has given us the opportunity to explore new ways to adapt and innovate in areas such as digital as well as to explore new opportunities in catering and retail at Windermere Jetty Museum.
You will be based at our newest venue, right on the shores of Windermere within walking distance to boutique shops and cafes in Bowness-on-Windermere.
We’re looking for someone that’s both technically adept and creative, who is excited to get under the skin of our audiences, really learn what is important to them and help us be ahead of the curve, stay relevant and most importantly – inject some fun!

Catering Business Opportunities – National Trust
The National Trust is looking for local catering businesses to run cafes at four of their visitor attractions in the Lake District.
The outlets are at Acorn Bank in Penrith, Beatrix Potter’s Hill Top in Near Sawrey, Claife Viewing Station on Windermere’s western shore and Wray Castle in Ambleside. The minimum provision is hot drinks, cakes and snacks and anyone with an interest is encouraged to get in touch.

Brockhole Shop and Information Supervisor – Lake District National Park Authority
We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic team member to help create a destination shopping experience and give a world class information service based in our Visitor Centre and Shop at Brockhole on Windermere.
You’ll work alongside the Shop and Information Manager, and will help supervise and deliver Brockhole’s retail offer that is both a visitor attraction in its own right, and commercially profitable.
You will assist the Shop & Information Manager to develop new product lines and visual merchandising to appeal to a new target market for Brockhole. You will supervise when required and deliver Brockhole’s reception, box office and visitor information service ensuring the delivery of world class service at all times and ensuring proactive selling of Brockhole activities, events and facilities.
You will deputise for the Shop and Information Manager in their absence, supervising staff and the opening and closing of the shop and information centre.

Apprenticeship Management Trainee – Gilpin Hotel & Lake House
The Gilpin Hotel & Lake House are looking for an Apprentice Management Trainee to join our family and team.
Based in Windermere with two luxury country houses on two separate estates in the beautiful Lake District. We are a family-run 5 star hotel in the Lake District with a great team and a friendly environment.
The Apprentice Management Trainee will work closely with the heads of departments allowing you to experience different areas of the business in order to gain knowledge and experience in many departments throughout the organisation.
The successful candidate will also attend University of Cumbria in Ambleside for one day a week to complete the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship programme over a three-year period and carry out a workplace learning to gain a degree apprenticeship. Management Trainees will enjoy real responsibility and career progression, with plenty of opportunity to grow and develop. Successful completion of the apprenticeship will lead to a BA (Hons) in Applied Business.
Candidates could have good customer service skills, strong organisation and good written skills to enable them to accurately prepare documents and schedules. Shortlisted candidates should be able to demonstrate L3 learning and preferably have GCSE Maths and English at C or above.
