Gleeson Homes already has a strong pipeline of sites in Cumbria and plans on using this to achieve its aspiration of delivering more than 500 homes a year. We currently have 10 developments across the west coast of Cumbria and Carlisle, all of which are projected to deliver a collective 650 affordable homes for local buyers by autumn 2028.
We have supported the local communities surrounding our developments, contributing approximately £3m on local authority Section 106 contributions over the last five years, in addition to sponsoring many local community clubs and initiatives.
At present, Gleeson has eight developments of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes located on the edge of the Lake District National Park and the Solway coast, perfect for local buyers and relocators. Our developments are all strategically situated within a short distance from the beautiful sights of the Lake District National Park and excellent transportation links, and our homes are perfectly suited for second-steppers or those looking for their ideal holiday home.
Gleeson’s growth plans include securing land in Westmorland and Furness. Thanks to the investment in the area, we are now looking to form partnerships with local businesses, supporting the hospitality sector in particular. Our collaboration with Cumbria Tourism gives us the opportunity to support the tourism industry by providing affordable homes to the workforce, and indeed all other businesses in Cumbria, in both retaining and attracting new staff.
We currently offer a range of schemes into home ownership and are now expanding this offering by joining the MyCumbria card scheme where members will have access to exclusive Gleeson promotions. This includes giving cardholders £500 off legal fees when they buy a new Gleeson home, and offering hospitality workers in Cumbria £1,500 towards options and extras when they reserve a new home with Gleeson.
