Windermere Lake Cruises
Windermere Lake Cruises is one of the top ten paid for visitor attractions in England and the most popular paid for attraction in Cumbria. We run a fleet of 17 vessels, including three historic “steamers” and offer a variety of cruises which take passengers to all parts of England’s longest lake and enable them to enjoy the stunning Lake District scenery at all times of the year.
We work closely with other attractions in the Lake District and operate a variety of joint-ticket cruises so that visitors can enjoy a trip on one of our vessels while also visiting other tourist attractions in the area.
We also work closely with other transport providers to encourage visitors to leave cars behind by providing joint ‘bus and boat’ tickets offering unlimited bus travel in the Lake District along with a Windermere Cruise. As well as a tourist attraction, we are an integral part of the public transport network in the Lake District.
We are Strategic Partners with Cumbria Tourism because, as one of the biggest attractions in the country, we have always been at the forefront of driving the vital visitor economy forward in a sustainable and responsible way. Working collaboratively is beneficial to that aim. It enables us to support the Destination Management Organisation in the work it does promoting our region both nationally and internationally. In turn, that benefits Cumbria as a whole.
We are one of the Lake District’s biggest employers and recognise the importance of sustainable tourism to Cumbria. Working together with partners helps build a network of mutual support and ensures a thriving local economy. Strategic Partnership helps us in achieving our aims of making a positive contribution to the local community while also sustaining the spectacular landscape in which we operate.
