To assist our industry throughout this difficult and changing time we have developed a recovery marketing strategy for both the county as a whole and for businesses to use within their own messaging.
Whilst some of these resources will be available to any business within the county others will be available only to our members – contact firstname.lastname@example.org to receive your password.

Latest COVID-19 guidance
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on the 8th December (view HERE), England moved into Plan B measures:
From Friday 10th December
The Government extended the legal requirement to wear a face mask to most public indoor venues, including theatres and cinemas. There are exemptions where it is not practical, such as when eating, drinking, exercising or singing.
Learn more HERE.
From Monday 13th December
The Government reintroduced the guidance to work from home where possible.
NHS Covid Passes
These are mandatory for entry into nightclubs and venues where large crowds gather from Wednesday 15th December including: unseated indoor venues with more than 500 people, unseated outdoor venues with more than 4,000 people, and any venue with more than 10,000 people.
NHS Covid Passes can still be obtained with two doses, but this will be kept under review as the boosters roll out. Daily tests will be introduced for people who have had contacts instead of isolation
Working to support you
We are expecting various Government guidance to follow over the next few days, providing more details about these new measures. As always, the Cumbria Tourism team will continue to monitor the latest information and we will share any further updates as they become available.
We know this is not the news you were hoping for, but over the last 22 months Cumbria’s tourism industry has shown itself to be resilient and ready to adapt to rapidly changing government guidance. We stand shoulder to shoulder with you and will also continue to push out messaging to our visitors to ensure they feel reassured and confident about the COVID-safe measures our businesses have in place during their stay in the Lake District, Cumbria.
